Welcome to IGARSS08. The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society annual IGARSS Symposia are now recognised as the #1 scientific and technical remote sensing event in the year. The growing importance of remotely sensed data in providing information for the sustainable development of our planetary resources and its contribution to understanding and monitoring the impact of climatic change provide a unique backdrop for the presentation of ideas, model, instruments and the application results of our research to be provided to the wider scientific community at this Symposium.
